Three research units are involved in the project: UNIPV (leader), UNIBAS and UNIPR (participants). The consortium brings together multidisciplinary competences, from architectural representation, analysis and restoration, to territorial/landscape planning, applied geology and economics of rural systems, mainly involving researchers and professors from institutions with a tradition of valuable research on the topic proposed by the project.
UNIVERSITY OF PAVIA
Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture
The UNIPV research unit is made up of seven members of the DICAr, Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The unit has extensive experience in the field of Cultural Heritage documentation , in the production of semantic 3D models and in the development of virtual platforms. The DICAr is equipped with digital technological instrumentation suitable for the development of project actions, as well as suitable spaces equipped with workstations and IT structures for managing datasets. The UNIPV unit is responsible for the scientific coordination and management of all phases of the project and develops the activities of integrated digital survey, production and management of the 3D database; of structuring the semantic model; and the design of thematic sheets on the building and public spaces for GIS population.

The UNIBAS research unit is made up of seven members of the Department of European and Mediterranean Cultures: the unit ensures in-depth knowledge of the case study and the surrounding area and provides constant support in relations with the PA and local authorities . The skills of the Unit in the field of architecture and the knowledge for the protection of the Lucanian heritage are fundamental for the correct setting of the research in the case study of Stigliano. The Unit also deals with the survey and acquisition of data on the urban and architectural scale , and has a decisive role in the coordination of cultural initiatives on the real and virtual historic centre. UNIBAS also coordinates the dialogue with local associations and stakeholders, especially for the validation and testing of data use protocols.
UNIVERSITY OF PARMA
Department of Engineering and Architecture
The UNIPR research unit is made up of seven members of the Department of Engineering and Architecture. The unit mainly deals with territorial, landscape and economic analysis and evaluation activities aimed at framing the spatial and economic relations of the study area, defining territorial strategies for improving accessibility , studying the impact and the replicability of the project. The unit is responsible for collecting GIS data and studying the potential and impact of the project in enhancing the landscape of the study area (anthropic and natural elements), with particular attention to a potential tourist-recreational network to improve the accessibility (from virtual to physical). The UNIPR team also develops study and evaluation activities of the economy of rural systems, setting the methodology for the collection and analysis of socio-economic and economic-financial data relating to the project, including the estimation of impacts.
